Vasquez, Elvis
A self taught illustrator, designer, and musician. In their visual work they draw heavy inspiration from vintage printed materials, with a focus on the use of texture and typography. They tend to focus on themes of the natural world, mental health, and facets of their identity (queer, nonbinary, Hispanic, trauma-survivor, and coming from an immigrant family). Their goal in visual art is to bridge the gaps between those with different lived experiences, and communicate intimate and oftentimes uncomfortable truths of being human. Through their music they like to explore unorthodox methods of production, exploring the blending of genres, breaking of rules, ignoring music theory, and throwing things together and seeing what sticks.
