About the avenue

Avenue for the Arts is a grassroots organization committed to making Grand Rapids a more vibrant city through meaningful experiences with art. We connect the public with talented local artists and artists with resources, exhibition opportunities, and professional development. Expanding from its origins as Grand Rapids’ downtown creative business district, the Avenue is an organization empowering artists throughout our city. Zachary Trebellas
Director
An Avenue volunteer since 2015, Zachary took on a greater leadership role after the Avenue became a fully volunteer-run organization in 2018. Trebellas comes to the Avenue from years spent collaborating with Heartside organizations like UICA, Heartside Ministry, Dwelling Place, Art Prize, and Good Manufacturing.
