Casaletto, Tom
My work is quite personal – as art at its best ought to be. Art, particularly drawing and painting, is a language without words. I do not want to use my art language to say what other artists are saying. Using my own vocabulary of forms and colors, art allows me to say what I may not be ready to put into words. The symbolisms I resort to are my own. They well up from the larger mind – the subconscious – and are not easily read. As I see it, mystery, ambiguity, irony add to the joy of an artwork. For me, doing art is intuitive and experimental, a form of intense play with no concern for rules.
